HEALWA Has a New Assistant Director

Welcome to Christina Pryor, MLS the Assistant Director & Community Health Education Coordinator. She will coordinate the Health Evidence Resource for Washington State (HEALWA) program effective January 17, 2017. In that role she will promote access to quality clinical information, support clinician knowledge and practice translation to spread efficiency, quality, evidence-based decisions, and best practices to improve health through the lifespan. Ms. Pryor has been working as the Consulting and Education Services Manager for Amigos Library Services since September 2015. She was solely responsible for providing leadership, management, and budget oversight for her department and ensuring that the organization’s courses and consulting services meet the needs of Amigos members.

Prior to joining Amigos, Christina served as Reference Manager for the St. Louis County Library in Missouri and as a medical research librarian for Covidien. She worked for five years in the biomedical publishing field at Elsevier and has a background and undergraduate education in advertising and marketing. Christina is an active member of the American Library Association and Special Library Association, who named her a Rising Star in 2011. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale and a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
