Virginia Mason Medical Center Downtown Seattle’s Birthing Center Closing

Oct 4, 2024 - The Seattle Times reports that "Virginia Mason Medical Center’s birth center is the health system’s only birth center in Seattle — and one of about five total hospital-based labor and delivery units in the city." The Washington State Nurses Association has expressed concern about the impact of the decision on the community and about the general trend of the closing of labor and delivery services in Washington State.
