Current Miss Washington Champions Health Equity

Oct 10, 2024 - Hermona Girmay, the current Miss Washington, is a graduate of the University of Washington School of Public Health (UW SPH). Girmay is using her platform to raise awareness of health equity and public health issues such as Type 1 diabetes, cardiovascular health and education. The UW SPH gave her many opportunities to learn about health issues and advocacy. She is particularly interested in diabetes and medical device wearing.  Read her story here.
