Mental Health Challenges for Asian American and Pacific Islander Students

The NW Asian Weekly reports on results of a University of Washington research study which found that mental health challenges significantly impact Asian American and Native Hawai’ian, and Pacific Islander (AA+NHPI) experiences in education. Working with the Washington State Commission on Asian Pacific Affairs, the UW plans to release a preliminary report by the end of 2024, with a final report in May 2025. The research affirms the importance of teachers of color and the impact of the classroom challenges into community health and health outcomes.
