Children Are the Most at Risk for Lead Poisoning

Oct 7, 2024 - Lead is a naturally occurring element found in small amounts in the earth’s crust. While it has some beneficial uses, it can be toxic to humans and animals, causing health effects. The Environmental Protection Agency's Lead Hotline provides the general public and health professionals with information about lead hazards.  It's Children's Health Month and the focus is on childhood lead poisoning.
