Creating a Healthier Climate for Youth Sports

Jun 26, 2025
Travis Snider, youth baseball coach and former major league player, says building a connection with kids helps create a healthier culture and allows them to grow into adults who can handle adversity. He runs an organization which provides parents with support and resources to help their kids put things into perspective and feel good about themselves. The goal is to explore better ways to parent through sports, and to change the culture of youth sports to be a more positive experience for all involved. Kids can experience anxiety and physical symptoms such as asthma due to the stress of playing sports. Snider works to educate parents about understanding the pressure of youth sports and responding in productive ways. Read more and hear the entire interview at KUOW.
