How do I get access to HEALWA?
Users must create a user ID and password to access the licensed resources on HEALWA. To set up your user ID, go to the Getting Started page and follow the directions there. Once your user ID is set up you’ll be able to use any of the resources contained in HEALWA without additional passwords.
Can students in health professions programs use HEALWA?
No, a student cannot access HEALWA. Access to HEALWA is based on an individual’s being licensed as a health care practitioner in one of the named professions. We recommend that students contact their institution’s library to learn what information resources and services they provide.
What is the best place to start to find information on HEALWA?

Do you have UpToDate?
While the cost prohibits us from subscribing to UpToDate, HEALWA has DynaMedex , which provides clinical answers with equal accuracy and speed. Research studies have shown DynaMedex to be noninferior in its ability to achieve delivery of the evidence-based information needed. DynaMedex also includes Micromedex’s evidence-based drug information.
What if I can’t find the article I need?
If you don’t see the article you need on HEALWA, contact us (Patricia Devine, devine@uw.edu). We can request it on interlibrary loan from another library for you.
