Whooping Cough Cases Spike in King County

Mar 26, 2025
The Seattle area is seeing an unusual spike in whooping cough cases, with King County reporting 111 cases so far in 2025, as noted by Axios. Public health officials are urging parents and pregnant people to make sure they and their children are current on their vaccinations. Other parts of the state are also seeing a rise in cases. The Washington State Childhood Vaccination Program provides vaccines to children 18 years of age and younger at no cost. Diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis vaccines are included in this program. View participating health care providers on the Department of Health’s Vaccine Provider Map.
