WSU College of Education Name Change

The College of Education at Washington State University will become the College of Education, Sport, and Human Sciences effective May 1. The new name will better reflect all of the programs; which include sport management, kinesiology, and athletic training as well as traditional education. Early in the program, which was founded in 1917, there was a focus on physical education. Today the College of Education also includes an Educational Pyschology program, with the goal of teaching students strong methodological skills, an understanding of researchable topics, the ability to develop a research program, to effectively communicate and to work with a wide variety of professionals to understand nuance and ambiguity in the work environment. The name change was approved and endorsed through an extensive process and will be celebrated official in early Fall 2025.
